Also, unless it was just the two titles I tried with last night, it doesn't seem to be bringing the titles for each of the tracks into MakeMKV any longer. These, in my opinion, should continue to pre-populate the 'name' field in MakeMKV.
registered to say that The Interpreter does the same thing at the same spot as the previous post. That's the only problem disc I've had so far and I'm 60% of the way through doing about 80 movies before they rot or no software is left to read them. Sticking with 1.72 since it works and I want subtitles.
I know HD-DVD support is not a priority, and i'm just glad there's anything left at all to salvage all these sub three dollar purchases.
The HD-DVD support was supposed to be improved in 1.7.3 by adding full support for profiles and metadata edit, but there are 3 confirmed bugs:
1. Subtitles are no longer available for selection/deselection
2. Minimum File Length is ignored
3. Track title is no longer read.
well, I finished the last one. Very impressed that they all worked except the above aforementioned. I'd be willing to donate some to support development, but 50 Euros is a bit steep.
I have been using MakeMKV for ripping my HD-DVD movies for a couple of months and now I have a question about it. Why MakeMKV always sets HD-DVD movies wrong 29.97 fps frame? When I play MakeMKV-ripped mkv videos, my videoplayer (XBMC) changes refresh rate every time to 60Hz instead of 24Hz. XBMC plays other 23,976 fps mkv videos fine at 24Hz. Only MakeMKV ripped mkv videos are played at wrong 60 Hz refresh rate. I have to use mkvmerge to change frame rate to 23.976 fps, which is correct frame rate for movies.
Here is MKVinfo results from ripped file "The Matrix Reloaded.mkv":
It's doing exactly what it does with DVDs too, which is leaving the pulldown flags intact.
The easiest way I've found to deal with this is to let MakeMKV create the MKV, then use eac3to to extract the video track which, by default, will remove the pulldown.
The command will be something like this for a VC1 video track: eac3to filename.mkv 1:video.vc1
which will give you a file called video.vc1.
Then remux it back into your original MKV in place of the existing video track.
This is a weird one. I am trying to rip the main movie from U-571 HD-DVD. I previously ripped the file a couple of years ago (1.6 version of MakeMKV I think.) Anyway, I was in the process of finally converting those files to an apple TV format, when I suffered a hard drive failure, losing the MKV rip.
I am trying to rerip this disc, using the latest version, but for some reason it is not finding the main movie, instead it just shows all the other bonus features. I am using the exact same drive and disc. Other rips are working fine, it just is this disc is is not finding the main feature.
Here is the log when it reads the disc (I did not rip as it didn't have the main movie I need.)

Any Ideas on if Troy, the very long 2+ hr HD DVD can be fixed etc...the reports seem to be that very long movies like this have 'overlay' errors when trying to make the mkv file....goes almost to the end and errors out.

Thanks

I'm having this same issue with "Chronicles of Reddick"... I get the option to rip all bonus features but not the main title...
I'm also having the same issue with Chronicals of Riddick
1) The Chronicals of Riddick (unrated directors cut)
2) Universal
5) Main Feature not listed in Titles.
6) Debug log
