Is this drive compatible with custom firmware

I needed an external Blu-Ray drive for a project so I just grabbed an inexpensive drive off Amazon and I decided since the project was over I would look into flashing this drive. It had a strange looking identification in MakeMKV so I took it out of its case and it had the attached label.

The drive had a mini-B USB to SATA adapter attached I also attached USB-A to SATA adapter and this is what MakeMKV identifies it as the following:

Whatever adapter you are using does not pass through the required information. Use one of the recommended adapters from the Ultimate UHD Drive guide 2026 then post the text from the drive info and libredrive info sections.

I clicked the link for the SATA to Slim SATA adapter and the adapter I bought is what showed on Amazon. Amazon must have updated the link or something. I may try connecting this to direct SATA on my desktop when I get a chance.

Ok, so being a BU50N, once you get a proper adapter that passes through info correctly, you will be able to flash it to BU40N 1.00 directly as it does not contain encrypted firmware.
