The Friends 25th Anniversary Complete Series DVDs take 20–30 minutes to analyze. Both an Apple SuperDrive and an ASUS drive behave identically. Rips succeed, but analysis pauses for minutes while processing empty audio streams. So the scan and tip each take roughly 30 minutes. Any work arounds for a novice?

What happens if you make a decrypted backup of the disc (the icon of the yellow folder and the green arrow on the first screen of MakeMKV) and then open the backup and create .mkv files from the backup?
