So you recommend I try to connect my usb bp50n to the sata ports on my desktop using the guides cable recommendation and try the unlocked flasher again?
How best do i connect my optical drive to this cable? My drive has a micro usb connector, do I use a little "USB A to micro" adapter? Or use the drives stock USB A cable (which has two usb a ends, i believe for extra power delivery) and a female to female USB A connector.

Anyway, the only thing you need here is the All You Need Firmware Pack from MartyMcNuts. Do a rawflash enc,slim to DE_LG_WP50NB40-NB50_1.03_MK.bin, then a rawflash full,slim of DE_LG_WP50NB40-NB50_1.03_MK.bin, then a rawflash main,slim to DE_LG_BP60NB10_1.00_MK.bin *or* DE_LG_BU40N_1.00.bin if you want DVDFab compatibility.

With SDFTool Flasher, you would just do an encrypted flash to DE_LG_WP50NB40-NB50_1.03_MK.bin, then a RECOVER Drive, selecting DE_LG_WP50NB40-NB50_1.03_MK.bin from the pop-up window and then DE_LG_BP60NB10_1.00_MK.bin or DE_LG_BU40N_1.00.bin from the drop-down menu.

Or you can do as Billy said and e-mail him or Marty for an auto flasher.

I can see that it's possible to use this to flash my drive, but will it work just to pick the DE_ASUS_BW-16D1HT_3.10_MK.bin or DE_ASUS_BW-16D1HT_3.02.bin firmware? My drive is the BW-16DH-U

Yes, 3.10-MK can be flashed to directly. If you want to use 3.02, you can flash to it afterwards.

I recently bought an Asus BW-16D1H-T Pro and successfully flashed the firmware (3.10-MK) just now.
My device also uses the M1959 chip and the original A205 firmware.
This device wasn't on the recommended list until I saw this post .
because it's now the easiest new HUD-friendly 5.25" type to buy in my area.
(Although it's a USB 3.0 external,I'll also consider to remove the case to put in PC after the warranty expires.)

In the end, it says flashing was successfully, but even after notebook restart, it's still the same firmware when i have a look in MakeMKV. I am really wondering about the firmware date, because it says its from 2119. Can anyone help me? Might it be a problem with the SATA controller from my notebook?

My understanding of Omnidrive firmware is that it does *not* change the firmware version. If your drive already had 1.02 & was patched/flashed before you received it, after flashing Omnidrive you will not see the firmware version change - Omnidrive firmware is a modified version of 1.02.

Leawo is macOS 4K/Blu-Ray/DVD player software. I am primarily a Mac user - I use a Mac to flash/test the drives I sell here on the forums. If you're seeing playback stuttering & are playing back from the source disc (not a ripped copy), it's probably your Mac/USB/system. Most people here buy flashed drives to rip media, not play it back. They rip & then watch the ripped version to avoid wearing out the expensive drive they may not be able to replace. If you rip a disc with MakeMKV, you can play it back with any software that can play MKV files. For macOS I prefer IINA

If you're asking about a guide to flash Omnidrive using a Mac, you probably won't find it here on the MakeMKV forums. Flashing discussions here are generally for using drives with MakeMKV. Your drive already has firmware to allow it work with MakeMKV.

I will PM this person ASAP, or if that doesn't work due to forum settings for new posters I will eventually reply here as long as the mods don't mind. While it's true that Omnidrive has nothing to do with MakeMKV, the flashing process does involve the tools we use so I feel like it's not entirely off-topic, particularly since Omnidrive has recently received improvements for DVD ripping.

EDIT : I very much agree that it is unlikely that Omnidrive has anything to do with the Leawo issues though.
