I'm hoping that the issues with these discs is resolved. I nearly bought it during the last 50% off sale, but hopefully if Criterion replaces any bad discs they will be cleared from existing stock.

On my first purchase of the criterion set, I wasn't able to rip three of the films:
The Grand Budapest Hotel
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
The Royal Tenenbaums
Thankfully I was within the return window from Amazon and just went ahead and grabbed a replacement set. With the new set, The Grand Budapest Hotel finally ripped just fine, but Life Aquatic is presenting an IPC error. Supposedly, this happens when the drive loses connection with the OS, but I'm skeptical of that, given the drive has worked just fine with my other discs. I'm thinking this still might somehow be an issue related to the disc itself, although I'm not sure of the how or why to back up that theory.
As for Royal Tenenbaums, I haven't tried it yet. I might just opt to do another replacement, although it's a bit of a pain to do all that with Amazon over and over again.
