Request for LG BU40N CB05 Full Dump / Original Firmware

Hello everyone,

I need help restoring my LG HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N back to its original factory firmware.

Drive information:

Original firmware:

CB05

Firmware date:

Serial number:

N802HS000323

Current firmware:

1.03 MK firmware

I used SDFtool Flasher to make a backup before flashing, but unfortunately I only have a user dump:

dump_user_HL-DT-ST_BD-RE_BU40N_CB05_211711291351_N802HS000323.tar

The dump contains:

- fd_sn.bin

- fd_fwdate.bin

- inq.bin

- rom_003000.bin

- rom_1EC000.bin

- rom_1F0000.bin

However, it is not a complete firmware image and cannot be directly written back with SDFtool.

I am looking for:

- BU40N CB05 full dump

or

- Original CB05 firmware BIN

Preferably from a BU40N with the same firmware date:

I would like to restore my original firmware while keeping my drive information.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As incredibly unlikely as it may sound given this firmware version... I believe I have the original Hitachi-LG flasher for this particular firmware. Just please give me a short amount of time to see if I can extract the firmware from the flasher, and if not I'll just upload the flasher itself and pray for the best.

What you're actually looking for (the firmware itself, extracted from the flasher with SamuriHL's Firmware Extractor 2, with Downgrade Enable already set) : https://mega.nz/file/qi5BXSBL#UxwrS7hUt ... 8i-H--5280

Personally, I would recommend not bothering with the LG flasher and just flashing the firmware itself (no encryption, no bootloader, no recover, just a regular WRITE should do the trick).

This particular LG flasher was extremely difficult to find, I had to find an obscure download link on an obscure Japanese support webpage that was only accessible through a Japanese proxy.

And please remember... No refunds in case you brick your drive or something. As I like to say, the only way to be 100% sure that a flashing operation is safe is when the drive is still working afterwards.
