Hi everyone,
I'm having an issue with MakeMKV where it starts ripping a Blu-ray normally but consistently stops around 50–60% of the way through. There's no obvious error message—just a failed operation after several minutes.
I've already tried cleaning the disc and restarting my PC, but the same thing happens every time. Is this more likely to be a disc issue, a problem with my Blu-ray drive, or is there a MakeMKV setting I should check? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
MakeMKV Stops Halfway Through Ripping a Blu-ray
Re: MakeMKV Stops Halfway Through Ripping a Blu-ray
I had almost the exact same issue with the Gladiator UHD Blu-ray.
The workaround was to
1) Clean the disc (which you already did),
2) Make sure the drive had a decent, stable power supply,
3) Reboot and close as many apps as possible before starting the rip,
4) Do nothing with the computer other than ripping the UHD disc.
(Later on when I re-ripped the same disc, the fact that I had re-flashed my drive to what I believe to be a better firmware may have helped also.)
Could we please have more details about the kind of drive you're using (LG, Pioneer), the drive model (such as LG BU40N), the firmware version, and the kind of disc you're attempting to rip (regular Blu-ray or UHD) ?

All my ASUS and LG drives failed with Gladiator UHD. I could only rip them with my Pioneer
