I too have a BDR-209D, interested to know if UHD functionality can be unlocked. Drive is currently in a linux box but can easily be moved to a Windows PC for flashing. Thanks in advance.

I just bought an BDR 209 and Flash it to UHD compatible. But since i bought it the drive has an issue with the opening mechanism the flashing dont help. Sometimes it opens and sometimes it wouldnt. Closing with the button works most times. Opening with the manual eject hole works everytime. How could I fix this problem?

I just bought a 209D with the same problem. It ended up being the the seal around the face plate. It get bent and the sticky stuff would hold the face plate to the drive so it could not open. Any way I removed all of it around the faceplate and have not had any issues since. I guess this seal was not made very good on the earlier drives. Hope this help.

Take a look. The top is with the seal removed and the bottom with the seal.

Hello! I recently got my hands on a BDR-209DBK too. I was wondering if you could share your flasher and firmware with me? I'd really appreciate it!

hey, i got a bdr-209m on a tri-boot mac pro 5,1.
the drive works well and plays blu-rays (not uhds) efficiently on both
macos with the macgo bluray player and win10 with the makemkv+vlc workaround,
however, i havent managed to make it work on ubuntu.
was wondering of the functionalities gained by flashing the drive with your fw packages
and if it would retain full compatibility with the oses (id appreciate some help with the ubuntu situation)
and finally, your recommendations regarding bluray/uhd player/bdxl burner apps for all oses.
thanks!
