CANT_LOCATE_MAKEMKVCON in 1.18.4

I get an error on startup "Application failed to initialize CANT_LOCATE_MAKEMKVCON" in 1.18.4. The compile and install was clean. I don't get that error on 1.18.3.

I'm running on Debian 13 x86_64 with Kernel 6.12.94. I searched around for solutions which indicated that there is an omission from the LD_LIBRARY_PATH that is needed, but doing an ldd on /usr/bin/makemkv and /usr/bin/makemkvcon doesn't reveal any unlinked libraries. I'm on the latest libavcodec version 7:7.1.5-0 from Debian.

You mean like you see a popup window or so with that error when you try to start the MakeMKV GUI? Does running makemkvcon from a terminal give you any error?

How exactly do you compile and install? Manually? PPA?

Works just fine here. Compiled from sources.

GUI version works and TUI from Terminal works.
