Need help identifying this drive's mechanism For UHD flashing

Post by Linus90234 »

Hi, everyone.
Newcomer here, recently just bought an ASUS SBW-06D2X-U A102 that was manufactured in 2025. Would be really appreciated if anyone can tell me whether or not it can become an UHD-friendly drive. Here are some informations:

MakeMKV:
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: SBW-06D2X-U
Revision: A102
Serial number: MO6O7192702
Firmware date: 2121-06-28 13:41
Bus encryption flags: 1F

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: MT1959

I've also dump the firmware and attached to file.
Thank you very much

Yes, your ASUS can be flashed to UHD capability.
As tomty89 wrote there is a LG BU40N inside, which can be flashed to fimware BU40N 1.03MK.

Try it. All you need you can find here.
