Black bars left, right, top, bottom, but correct AR

Shows same on Roku Ultra and VLC. Aspect ratio is fine, but wasting a lot of screen.

Running the file through a program like handbrake will strip the black bars, making the file smaller.

That's perfectly normal / expected when you play letterbox material on a non-4:3 screen though. You could "zoom in" / crop to get rid of the bars at the top and the bottom, but I suspect that the DVD subtitle would then not be shown properly.
