Disc streams fail to rip, backup ISO fully works

Post by Niggi Biggi »

I've been trying to rip all the streams to MKV from the Blu-ray audio album "Drums and Wires" by XTC:
https://www.discogs.com/release/3522771 ... -And-Wires

However, only the remixed audio rips properly, whereas none of the original mixes retain their audio after ripping (XTC_t00, t01, t04, t07).
These can only be played if I use VLC to decrypt the disc or mount an ISO made from a MakeMKV disc backup.

I have also tried ripping all streams using two different drives, the LG BH16NS55 and Asus BW-16D1HT drives, flashed with the appropriate firmware, but the results remain the same.

Could it be a keydb.cfg problem, or do I perhaps have a faulty disc?

I have attached a few screenshots of my rips, as well as the disc opened up inside of MakeMKV.

OS: Kubuntu 26.10
MakeMKV Version: 1.18.3

EDIT 05.06.2026: I've included a log file for the whole rip of the Blu-ray, though I'm not sure this will illuminate any problems.

According to the log file MakeMKV successfully saved 9 files. Is that what you expect?

Since it is able to rip titles on the disc, things are being successfully decrypted. You do not have a keydb.cfg problem.

What does MediaInfo say about the .mkv files MakeMKV produced?
