Chapters not being retained after being ripped from DVD

Post by phocker »

Been a user of MakeMKV for some time now and haven't come across this issue before. I ripped Dexter Season 2 Disc 2 and the titles didn't have any chapters even though the titles were showing 6-7 chapters in MakeMKV. Just wondering if this is a known issue and if anything can be done about this?
Thanks.

Wanted to add that after ripping the same dvd with DVDfab the chapters were showing up so I don't believe it's a dvd issue.

Are the chapters listed in the MakeMKV window before you rip? Post a screenshot of the disc opened in MakeMKV.

Chapters are shown in MakeMKV, create an MKV file and open it with MediaInfo, it'll show you if there are chapters in the created file.

Yes, which is what I did and there were no chapters being shown in VLC or MediaInfo.
Thanks for the replies though.

This might be a bug. Please make and send a testdump for any title where chapters are missing, per instructions at http://www.makemkv.com/onlinehelp/testdump.html
