Hello,
After putting in a new disc, it is showing the following message:
This disc uses newer version of AACS protection. Please let us know about it by visiting http://www.makemkv.com...... (the URL goes on)
When I click on the link, it takes me to page on the website that says:
Thank you

My question is - Did me clicking on this link cause data to be uploaded to the website? If so, was there any personal data included?
Data Upload Question
Re: Data Upload Question
As far as I've been able to determine, it is simply a dump of some information from the disk that can be used to calculate a key. It really doesn't help for newer disks (ones that require more data than can be included in a URL), so it can be ignored, if you're worried.
In most cases, MakeMKV will have already tried to download the latest key list before displaying the message, so you should note whether it complained about not being able to do so first.
