Thanks to everyone else who followed the template and provided new disc dump files. The following UHD discs have been added to the public keydb (new media keys are indicated with an asterisk):

Code: Select all

*MKB20_v77_MACROSS_PLUS_THE_MOVIE_4K_UHD_A6DC
*MKB20_v77_NEVERMORE_0B2C
*MKB20_v77_呪怨〈4K:Vシネマ版〉_3888
*MKB20_v82_SPACEWAYS
MKB20_v82_THE_KEY_445D

Hey rjrteb, your disc was definitely added to the public keydb on March 15. If you can't decrypt your disc with MakeMKV, it means you haven't configured MakeMKV to utilise the public keydb. Please read the opening post of this thread as I provided some helpful background info and links to instructions.

Hey userhou4, thanks for the attempt but you probably should've read the opening post. I was pretty clear about how to calculate the disc ID:
keydb_helper wrote: Thu Jun 26, 2025 1:40 am Please include the disc ID in your submission template. The disc ID is the SHA-1 hash of the Unit_Key_RO.inf file in your discs AACS folder. Many tools can calculate this hash, please google the instructions for your specific platform.
Not really sure what you did but the correct value was 0x5D98452F3DF3B240353D5D041F6421AC380F1561
userhou4 wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2026 1:33 am Disc dump filename: MKB20_v77_The_Sound_of_Music_BCE8
Every time I see someone has copied my example submission filename it helps to set expectations...
userhou4 wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2026 1:33 am MKB_RO.inf link: ...
You posted a link to the 56 byte MKB_RO.inf file which you extracted from the disc dump file. I just don't get why folks keep doing this? Why would I ask you to extract and upload a file contained within the other file you are uploading? I was pretty explicit about not doing this:
keydb_helper wrote: Thu Jun 26, 2025 1:40 am Do not just extract the ~56 byte MKB_RO.inf file from a partial disc dump file and upload it separately. This is not helpful. Instead, copy the MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS folder on your disc and upload it separately. If your MKB_RO.inf file is not several megabytes in size, it is probably not useful for UHD discs.
userhou4 wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2026 11:26 am Sorry, I probably made a mistake when filling it out. I'll try again tomorrow and send it to you.
Feel free to have another crack at posting to this thread and please ask if anything remains unclear. The only pending item should be uploading the full, several megabyte MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS folder on your disc and posting a new link.

Thanks, I had missed that (I hadn't tried to rip a UHD disc for a long time & didn't really check the status of such things).

The link to the public keydb homepage in the first post goes to a dead page unfortunately, but finding KeyDB Helper helped greatly & the disc is now detected. Many thanks to everyone involved in all these projects!

The link is fine. It uses http not https so double check your browser.

All three discs were added to the public keydb on March 6. Don't waste my time by blindly copying the template. Actually check the support status before posting to this thread.

@keydb_helper

Is it okay to submit discs that already are in the database, but only have the UK and no VUK?

My apologies - I thought I did. I downloaded and installed the latest keydb.cfg and tried to rip the discs and was still unable to find the volume key for all three discs.

No worries - your submissions were fine apart from that uniqueness issue.

Open up your local keydb.cfg file in a text editor and search a disc ID from your set (Eg: 0xD0B73588A895ED9A8CE4FEF68A0A2ABA9AA95754).

If you don't find a match, it means your keydb.cfg file is too old. Follow the steps linked in the opening post of this thread to grab the latest keydb file. Don't forget to unzip it after downloading.

If you find a match, you've probably put the keydb.cfg file in the wrong location. It should be in the same folder where MakeMKV generated your disc dump files.

If the keydb.cfg file is in the correct folder, you may need to rename the keydb.cfg file to KEYDB.cfg to accommodate MakeMKV's search behaviour on case sensitive file systems.

@anon.mouse...
Just install Samiur-Hl keydb finder program.
Takes up no resources.
Run syncronise before ripping disk and done

anon.eh.mous.user is using Linux, so I don't think he can use SamuriHL's tool:

Code: Select all
