ASUS SBW-06D5H-U

Hello,

I have a license for MakeMKV and I've been enjoying it for quite a few months for reproducing (non 4K) Blu-Ray movies. Unfortunately, I have been getting the following error for the last few weeks when trying to open a Blu-Ray disc:
MakeMKV v1.18.3 win(x64-release) started
Using direct disc access mode
Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.
Error 'Scsi error - BLANK CHECK:NO ADDITIONAL SENSE INFORMATION' occurred while issuing SCSI command A30..00200740100720..0FB922C4143180D25A2E574C79980B820B1 to device 'SPTI:\Device\CdRom1'
---Repeated error several times.---
Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE - KEY NOT ESTABLISHED' occurred while issuing SCSI command AD010..080002400 to device 'SPTI:\Device\CdRom1'

Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE - KEY NOT ESTABLISHED' occurred while issuing SCSI command AD010..080002400 to device 'SPTI:\Device\CdRom1'
---Repeated error several times.---
Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your drive
Title #01472.mpls has length of 21 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #00810.m2ts was skipped
---Repeated message several times with different title numbers.---
Failed to open disc
I have tried updating both VLC and MakeMKV as well as uninstalling and installing again the latter. I have also deleted the .MakeMKV/_private_data folder. Neither of the two solved my problem.

The physical drive functions properly when using PowerDVD (trial version) and I am able to playback movies. I was able to open the movie I used for testing with MakeMKV a few months ago.

Thank you in advance for your comments!

Hi!

Here exactly the same. Same drive, same firmware - but since an MakeMKV update in summer 2025.

I had to disable LibreDrive for it to work again.
My steps (Windows) with only one drive plugged:
- close MakeMKV
- regedit
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> MakeMKV
- look for a entry called "speed_ASUS_SBW-06D5H-U_E102_CGDL274092WL" (in my case) - and double click on it
- copy the string without "speed_" -> In my case the string is called "ASUS_SBW-06D5H-U_E102_CGDL274092WL"
- close popup
- doubleklick on the entry called "sdf_Stop". If you don't have an entry like this - create it with type "String" (here in german its called "Zeichenfolge")
- paste your drive-string in the entry "sdf_Stop"
- close regedit
- start MakeMKV -> now LibreDrive should be disabled
- with the latest MakeMKV Update 1.18.3 and testing if LibreDrive works (it does not...), i had to unplug the drive, insert another bluray - before these steps MakeMKV gave me the same errors as with LibreDrive enabled. Maybe you have to restart the pc - give it a try and it will work again ;-)

Good luck - and lets hope we get a solution for LibreDrive to work properly on our drive.
