Issues backing BD

#1 Post by Ginger14 » Wed Mar 18, 2026 5:54 pm

Hello,

I’ve been searching through the forums but haven’t been able to find a solution—apologies if I missed an existing post. If you can point me in the right direction, I’d really appreciate it.

I’m trying to back up the Avatar Blu-ray, but I’m running into the errors listed below. I downloaded and added the KEYDB.cfg file to the .MakeMKV folder, but the issue persists. I’ve just started backing up my DVD and Blu-ray collection, and this is the first title giving me trouble. I have a feeling I may run into similar issues with other discs, but so far this is the only one causing problems. Let me know if I can provide anymore information to help.

Thanks in advance for any help!

How is your drive powered? Via 2 USB plugs? If so make sure they're both plugged into high powered USB ports either via a powered hub or via ports on your motherboard (not front-of-case ports, which are rarely 'high powered' ports).

Your error looks like LibreDrive wasn't enabled on your drive when trying to rip a disc. That might be because it wasn't getting enough power. It might mean your drive needs to be unplugged so it can be powered cycled before you try again.
