Possible to shuck Buffalo BRXL-16U3?

Post by bcrush »

Looking for an internal UHD drive to add to my desktop and was hoping this would be possible.

Before I crack this open, I wanted to see if anyone had attempted this and if it would be a straight forward process. I know some HDDs would use soldered connectors which made it difficult and don't want to risk damaging the drive. It looks like the drive itself is the LG model.

Thanks, that was easy enough.

For anyone reading this hoping to do the same, it's pretty straightforward. There is a screw on the side and another one hidden underneath the product label on the back. Remove those two and you can pry the top of the case apart from the bottom. Then unscrew the two screws on the side of the drive and the drive should slide out with a little force. The SATA cable doesn't have a lot of slack, so it will be tight. From there, just unplug the connectors and you're ready to add it to your PC.
