Just a note to mention, I noticed on Ebay that there are some sellers who are confused about which of the above drives they are actually supplying.
The title shows
"New BU50N 6X 3D Blu-ray Burner 4K Player BD-RE BDXL 100G 120GB BDRE Writer Drive"
and a photo of a BU40N.

I asked them
"Hi there, your photo shows the BH40NB not the 50"
They responded
"Dear Sir, This is BU50N Drive. NOT BU40N, I don't know why the factory also put BU40N on it, But this is designed by the factory, and we cannot change the products designed by the factory. Just like how the factory came out. Thank you for your understanding."

yeah lots of recaseing and restickering of old drives is going on now that no one is making new ones

There are all sorts of BS listings for optical drives on eBay. For a while I was seeing a lot of broken-English listings of things like "LG WH16NS40 compatible". "Compatible"?
One listing was supposedly an early version of a blu-ray drive model that does not actually support blu-rays because it is an early version. Some are described as something like "For Pioneer BDR-209DBK". "For"?
Also, sellers re-use other people's images so you cannot tell what exactly is being sold based on pictures. Often the text descriptions do not match the pictures.
In other words, a lot of the scamming behavior is incompetent.
So as a buyer, if someone actually falls for this, then...
