Thanks dougy, the DECF variant of Safe House has been added to the public keydb.
Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
  • Please use file hosts, not forum attachments
  • You must include the MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS folder on your disc
  • Place the extracted keydb.cfg file in the same directory as your disc dump files

Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions - All The President's Men & The Dead Criterion - aacs2./cv.82

Post by DPM78 »

Apologies as I am new to the forum so if this has been covered I would greatly appreciate someone guiding me through this issue.
I have the Dead on criterion and All the President's Men 4k's that when attempting to open just says "cannot open disc" I am using libredrive mode
The problem seems to be linked to aacs2./cv.82 protection. I am up to date with 1.18.3.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This was released today, so the public keydb doesn't have them.
Interesting. My drive (also a BU40N with 1.03) reported differently, e.g.:
- disc1 was called ...PART_1_C2F6.tgz (via MakeMKV 1.18.3), with ID 0x32d6762cac4718765246be6319d23832361fb333 (per KeyDB Helper)

Is it common for releases to have different checksums and disc IDs? (I suppose they would across regional boundaries, but then discs often have different release dates in different regions...)

Yes, it is common that there are many different pressings that have different discID and a different 4 characters at the end of the dump file.

I suppose since they hash/checksum differently, the KeyDB needs submissions of each so that it can be kept up to date with all the various pressings?

I believe that existing keys can be used to derive my TRON Ares variant. However, I'm not able to process the disc and have not found instructions on how to do it. My windows box is not playing nice with my optical drives because reasons. My MacOS drive is doing well for many titles, but not that one. I just downloaded a new keydb and things are sitll failing.

foo@Foo-MacBook-Air MakeMKV % ls
_private_data.tar keydb.cfg.bak screen.conf
keydb_eng.zip MKB20_v77_POSSESSION_UHD_42CB.tgz settings.conf
keydb.cfg MKB20_v77_TRON-_ARES_8CF9.tgz update.conf
foo@Foo-MacBook-Air MakeMKV % unzip keydb_eng.zip
Archive: keydb_eng.zip
replace keydb.cfg? [y]es, [n]o, [A]ll, [N]one, [r]ename: N
foo@Foo-MacBook-Air MakeMKV % mv keydb.cfg keydb.cfg.bk2
foo@Foo-MacBook-Air MakeMKV % unzip keydb_eng.zip
Archive: keydb_eng.zip
inflating: keydb.cfg
foo@Foo-MacBook-Air MakeMKV % cp keydb.cfg KEYDB.cfg
cp: KEYDB.cfg and keydb.cfg are identical (not copied).

As the public keydb continues to grow, there are an increasing number of UHD media keys which can be used to derive complete keydb records for similar disc variants. I strongly recommend Windows users take the time to try SamuriHL's KeyDBTool as it would've derived & submitted the variant-specific keys and avoided the need to post the following titles:

Yes, correct. MakeMKV also requires these dumps for it's internal hashed keys database, so don't forget to email them to svq@makemkv.com

Thanks to everyone who followed the template and provided new disc dump files. The following UHD discs have been added to the public keydb (new media keys are indicated with an asterisk):

Code: Select all

*MKB20_v77_SISU_ROAD_TO_REVENGE_3FFA

*MKB20_v82_The_Doors_7D88
*MKB20_v82_Ugly_Stepsister_UHD
I believe all other valid submissions have also been processed.

Hey Rays1, AACS 2.1 isn't a priority for the public keydb at this time. MakeMKV also doesn't utilise the public keydb for AACS 2.1 titles, so the benefit of any additions would be limited.

Hey Brian, I know you were trying to contribute but your post wasn't very helpful. Both of your discs were added to the public keydb on February 6. Please try to read the opening post of this thread as it contains links to some helpful instructions and the submission template.

Hey BulldogK9, thanks for the submission but as I told Brian the public keydb has included both of those discs since February 6. Please follow the steps linked in the first post of this thread to configure MakeMKV to utilise the public keydb.

For future reference, the disc ID is the SHA-1 hash of the Unit_Key_RO.inf file from each disc. For your two discs the expected values were 0x3B1972EA7E5F4AD158DBB6FC52729A4BD2A35137 and 0x24F08F816CE30532833EE0D08B1066359EBA8101

Even if you choose to skip the first 123 pages, folks are pretty good about following the template now. I find the idea of posting in a thread after reading essentially none of the existing posts to be a bit odd...

Got it! And thanks for the heads up. I looked in to aacs and figured out that i just have to switch the disk out and get a new one. I would of never known about aacs not being supported had you not told me. Reading through 124 pages is rather daunting, but I must admit after submitting my request I realized I didn't follow the format. Problem is a also don't know where all that information comes from to fill the proper request. However i did do the vuk update thing and that worked like a charm on the new predator I just got last night so I should be good to go. Gonna try another copy of zombieland from a different source. Thank you again for helping out. Definitely not trying to waste anyone's time here.
