The latest KEYDB.cfg file already has an entry for this disk.

Hi - thanks I followed the KEYDB.cfg instructions - I have unzipped file keydb.cfg saved in:

C:\Users\[my user name]\.MakeMKV

However I still get this following error. Do I need to do something else?

MakeMKV v1.18.3 win(x64-release) started
Using LibreDrive mode (v02.1 id=E9BA8ECC61EF)
Using direct disc access mode
Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.
Saved AACS dump file as C:/Program Files (x86)/MakeMKV/MKB20_v82_EXCALIBUR_-_4K_UHD_0994.tgz
The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Failed to open disc

You put the keydb.cfg file in the wrong location. For whatever reason your data directory is set to C:/Program Files (x86)/MakeMKV/ and that's where it needs to go or change the data directory in your MakeMKV settings.

Thanks to everyone who followed the template and provided new disc dump files. I believe all submissions have been added to the public keydb.

The following discs corresponded to new media keys:

Code: Select all

MKB20_v82_Fear_In_The_Night_40A6
MKB20_v82_Now_You_See_Me-_Now_You_Don't_9DF8
MKB20_v82_PREDATOR-_BADLANDS_990E
MKB20_v82_PREDATOR_BADLANDS_A230
Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
  • Please use file hosts, not forum attachments
  • You must include the MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS folder on your disc

Here the new Puss In Boots UHD release, haven't gotten The Last Wish in the mail yet but straight to getting the keys:

Code: Select all

Disc type: UHD
Disc ID: c998c57b8fdb7bb4b2c29c8df1605c0c5a2759e0
Disc dump filename: MKB20_v77_Puss_in_Boots_7C67
Drive: BDR-UD04
Drive firmware: Original (unpatched)
LibreDrive status: Enabled (2.1)
Did you sync the public keydb within the last 15 minutes? Yes
Have you verified that all submission links are accessible in incognito/private browsing? Yes
MKB_RO.inf & disc dump link: https://mega.nz/file/71pF3ACY#Nexlaf9g3 ... tDZ4kiK4wE

Both the tgz and the whole AACS folder just in case, also since the tgz has the smaller 56 byte file, not 5MiB.

Hi thanks I didn't notice the different path - not sure why I had two paths, may have tried to do this before. I have changed my data directory in MakeMKV settings (to the normal default location) and put all files including keydb.cfg in the data directory, and all is now fine, I am ripping Excalibur 4K. Also, next time I will follow the correct process/submission format, apologies. Many thanks!
