Ahh it seems that those are listed as $75 and $80 on Pioneer website but are not longer made, would you recommend any others that would be less than $100 that would just need to be flashed?
a drive below $100 is almost impossible to find now as they have been ut of production for over a year all the pioneers and lg stopped a few months ago too

i still have some xd08 if you want one but over $100 but still half the price of the ebay ones
Just a little out of my price range. I guess I'll have to just invest after a few months into my full-time job to get that much money. I'm assuming the LG GH24NSC0B isn't a good one either?
not if you want to do UHD

Get the "possible, not yet enabled" message despite the drive being listed SDF.bin v8D in the first post:

SDF.bin v8D:

Code: Select all

supported - original vendor firmware (Pioneer RS): 210 firmware(s):
...
PIONEER-BD-RW___BDR-S11-1.50-2CD5C009-8800ID43-20171221
...
Not sure I've misidentified it or what. If I haven't, also not sure how to proceed.

I’ve been looking into a little. And these are the two drives I found available that I could order. Between these two, is there a better option?

Hello, I have purchased BDR-212XJ and looking to enable UHD on it, from all the reading I did it looks like the drive needs to be cross flashed to BDR-212UBK Firmware. Although I'm having trouble finding the procedure or the firmware as I'm assuming that firmware should not be coming from the manufacture website. Would anyone be so kind as to point me in the right direction of these two things.

Drive Information
OS device name: F:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-212M
Revision: 1.04
Serial number:
Firmware date: 2022-12-20
Bus encryption flags: 1B

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8F00
Firmware version: GENE

No disc inserted

Post the drive info from MakeMKV.
It was in a PNG attachment which doesn't seem to have been approved (that post was my first on this forum). I'll post it here in text so that it doesn't get blocked for my being a new-ish member:

Ok, Thank you. Guess I will need to get them flash when they get here.
Looks like I will be getting a BDR-209XJB 2014 and a BDR-209BK 2017, not positive about the firmware though.

Take the risk. These drives will get more expensive the longer you wait.
