Hi,
I have a Pioneer BDR-UD03, manufacture date on the sticker is 2017, it's in a Vantec enclosure. This is the info from MakeMKV:
Drive Information
OS device name: D:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-UD03
Revision: 1.03
Firmware date: 2015-05-14
Bus encryption flags: 1B
LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8510
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-US03
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.03/ID19
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes
I've read online that the drive would need to be crossflashed with BDR-UD04 firmware, but it looks to me like MakeMKV is happy to use it as-is for ripping UHD discs, is this correct? or will I see better compatibility crossflashing?
Many thanks,
elver

No, it can't read UHD discs until cross-flashed to the BDR-UD04 (UHD model) firmware.
Cheers
