#1 Post by Yannick86 » Fri Feb 06, 2026 5:41 am

Can't decrypt Bugonia 4K

I know the Blu-Ray can be decrypt.

attached the file, i saw it's not in the Public Database yet

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-HaxVG ... drive_link

MakeMKV v1.18.3 win(x64-release) started
Using LibreDrive mode (v06.3 id=EC0D0F39EDA7)
Backing up disc into folder "C:/Video/backup/BUGONIA_UPK1"
Saved AACS dump file as C:\Users\Yannick/.MakeMKV/MKB20_v82_BUGONIA_UPK1_9EBA.tgz
The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Backup failed

I checked and saw that I can rip the file without decyrpting and decrypt it later once the key is available.

But the back-up process gave me this feedback, hope the disc still can be converted afterwards when I can decrypt:

Using LibreDrive mode (v06.3 id=EC0D0F39EDA7)
Backing up disc into folder "C:/Video/backup/BUGONIA_UPK1"
Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.
Error 'Scsi error - NOT READY:MEDIUM NOT PRESENT - TRAY OPEN' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00133.m2ts' at offset '51528204288'
Failed to save title /BDMV/STREAM/00133.m2ts to file C:/Video/backup/BUGONIA_UPK1/BDMV/STREAM/00133.m2ts
Backup done but 1 files failed hash check

Hey Yannick, your particular disc variant was added to the public keydb on January 24. Follow my instructions here to configure MakeMKV to utilise the public keydb.
Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
  • Please use file hosts, not forum attachments
  • You must include the MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS folder on your disc
