First time user, slightly overwhelmed.

Post by w00pw00p48 »

Hi everyone,

First time poster. The reason I'm posting here is because I'm in experienced with using the software and bluray ripping in general. It seems a hell of a lot more complex than ripping DVD which I've used MakeMKV for a few times.

What I'm looking to rip is a boxset that's SD on Bluray, so I don't need UHD capabilities or anything fancy. Bascially I'm just wondering if someone can recommend an external bluray drive, ideally a couple of options so I can pick which works best.

Can anyone help?

PS, I'm in the UK, not in the US, if that makes a difference.

Pioneer drives are held in high regard. The easiest thing to do at the moment is buy a drive from Asmcom. They'll sell you a drive that'll work with MakeMKV and they've got some of the last new Pioneer drives for sale.

FYI. Asmcom's shop is still closed but reopens tomorrow.
