Hello, I currently have the opportunity to buy a BDR-X12UBK from a local guy. I was wondering if it was possible to use it to rip UHD blurays or if it is flashable.
I have seen another thread asking this question but there was no answer as the rest of the discussion continued in PMs. I cannot post the MKV drive info & libredrive info sections as I do not own the drive currently. However I do know that it currently is on firmware 1.02.
If it is, will be interested in buying the software to flash it.
Is the BDR-X12UBK flashable and does it support UHD in MakeMKV?

If the firmware is pre Dec. 2022 it can be flashed for UHD. You need to find out. Makemkv info will tell.Uelen wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 3:48 pmHello, I currently have the opportunity to buy a BDR-X12UBK from a local guy. I was able to obtain the info:
"2020-01-22" Those specs should be perfect, right?
I don't want to be annoying but as I'll be spending a non-negligable amount on money on this, I just want to be 100% sure.
