Can LG resolve these G5 issues you've pointed out through firmware updates at all?
they can but they wont.
Well that's unfortunate, might have to look at Sony rather than LG for my next OLED (C8 getting a bit outdated for my liking)

Anyone know of a way to get ffmpeg or another tool show the ICtCp colorspace on a video file (I am just wondering if I have a potential p5 file with the wrong colorspace)?

I got close with ffmpeg:

Code: Select all

ffprobe -v error -select_streams v:0 -show_entries stream=color_space,color_transfer,color_primaries,pix_fmt -of default=nw=1 video.mkv
DV8file:

Code: Select all

pix_fmt=yuv420p10le
color_space=bt2020nc
color_transfer=smpte2084
color_primaries=bt2020
DV5file:

Code: Select all

pix_fmt=yuv420p10le
color_space=unknown
color_transfer=unknown
color_primaries=unknown

Guys do you know by chance if the avdvplus builds are supported with Dune HD Pro Vision 4K (S905X4-J). I'm currently on CPM A14

Reset, how do you get the below player process information?

Image

I followed your CE guide and keymap tutorial but all I get is the basic Kodi PPI? Without the DV type real time luminance data... I am on https://github.com/avdvplus/Builds/rele ... vdvplus_R5.

Thank you for doing all of this man, the information you share is worth gold to us HDR enthusiasts!

Thank you. Damn, all of the links seem to be dead, are there any other live links that you know of, specifically for Arctic Zephyr?

I just found out the ugoos am6b+ is no longer sold anywhere in my country. Now I dread the day mine dies.
Still no other devices that are capable of the same things as this box?

I have been using my Sony X700 to play DV content. Annoyingly my TV (Panasonic GZ950) doesn't support TV led DV, as I was led to believe when I made the purchase.

@RESET_9999 or anyone else knowledgable, are there any viewing benefits to replacing my X700 with a Ugoos AMB6+ when my TV only supports player led DV from external sources?

When is the encoding date? I believe Framestor used an older version of MakeMKV and/or MediaInfo for a while, which didn't inclue the DV flag, or something along those lines. What does a modern version of MediaInfo say?

So us AM6b+ owners are now in a situation where we are blessed with 3 different current builds/paths:

"OG" cpm on A15-HEVC, seemingly focusing on only full bitrate remux/lossless audio. https://github.com/cpm-code/xbmc/releases

avdvplus, currently on release 5 (which is what I am running right now), focusing on everything within reason and DV improvements in general. https://github.com/avdvplus/Builds/releases

U3k on B11, similar to avdvplus, but also backporting stuff from Kodi 22 (mostly GUI rendering stuff if i read it correctly?), maybe halted/discontinued as the repo is archived. https://github.com/CE-Repo/xbmc/releases/tag/B11

My only issues, which persist across all 3 versions are random crashes, completely taking down the AM6b+ , and some DV content completely blanking the screen (on a scene by scene basis) on my LG E6. (Latest content is Slow Horses S05 and Fallout S02 P5 versions, in which every episode has issues sooner or later), which can be fixed by removing CM4.0 using dovi_scripts, which are fine, but not super nice, as this can happen at any point in a movie/show, such as 30 minutes into a movie, which is not really when one would want to start running scripts on a file.

Just wondering if there is a preference / comparison, as i have lost the thread by now :P

CPM and Jamal (u3k) have both retired and are no longer working on this project. At this point, avdvplus is the only build that should be used.
If you haven't already, you should open a ticket regarding these crashes. The issue is likely easy to fix, it's probably related to the fact that you have a first gen oled tv.
