OS device name: G:
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: BW-16D1X-U

Firmware date: 2020-07-21
Bus encryption flags: 1B

LibreDrive Information

A friend of mine picked me up this over the holidays, because I built a NAS, and he mentioned running Jellyfin off it. That I could use this to rip my Blu-ray TV/Movie collection for streaming if I flashed it, and used MakeMKV. I'm new to this, and wasn't sure what to flash? All my 4k & regular blu-ray discs are bought in the US, so not sure if region matters.

My friend said he tried to get the Asus BW-16D1HT, but was out of stock so he got this. I waasn't sure looking at the all you need firmware pack if that Asus BW-16D1HT firmware works for this model too? Apologies if silly questions.

I suspect you'll need to provide the information on your drive, first... Not all drives can be side-grated.

Hello. I had a look at the documentation in viewtopic.php?f=16&t=19634 but was not able to find anything specific for the BW-16DX1-U with Pioneer RS8F00. I got this drive recently, so trying to do the due diligence so I don't brick it :)

I'm wondering if there's anything I'm missing? I saw read about the sidegrade but everything seems to be written for the 16D1HT, so wanted to check with people that have successfully flashed drives similar to mine? I see users posting their drive info, so here's mine:

Code: Select all

Drive Information
OS device name: F:
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: BW-16D1X-U
Revision: E113
Serial number:
Firmware date: 2020-07-21
Bus encryption flags: 1B

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8F00
Firmware version: ID76

No disc inserted
Thanks in advance for any info! :)

Well, you are asking for a PM for what exactly? You didn't copy and paste your MakeMKV drive info and libredrive info sections, so nobody knows what you want.
Cheers :D

I posted them and didn't notice that they hadn't been posted yet. They still had to be approved by an admin. If you look now, my info is before the bacon post. It was bad timing.
