Flash Query - ASUS SBW-06D5H-U

Post by MagicianMoth » Sat Dec 20, 2025 11:55 am

I have the above drive which has stopped ripping DVD and Bluerays (Woks find with cd's) in the last month or two.

Question; Does the drive need flashing and if required where could I can get this from, and what would be the correct one.

MKV Drive details below;

Drive Information
OS device name: \Device\CdRom0
Current profile: DVD-ROM
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: SBW-06D5H-U
Revision: E102
Serial number:
Firmware date: 2023-04-20
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 70

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8511
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-US03
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: E102/ID26
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

Thanks in advance for any help

Most likely your laser lens is polluted. Clean with alcohol and a cotton swab. Dry with a cotton swab. Your drive's firmware is too new and can't be flashed for UHD.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a try... I'd just be happy to rip DVD's & Bluerays again, I dont go in for UHD at present.

Thanks again
