Hello all
I Hope you are Well.
Is it possible to see how many Elements are present in the PGS Subtitles, prior to Ripping?
Or, is it possible to see how many Elements are present in the resulting MKV using MKVToolnix so that I can select only the Forced Subtitles and Remove the ones that I do not require?
Thanks in advance
Kevin
Number of PGS Subtitle Elements
Re: Number of PGS Subtitle Elements
Prior to ripping, no. The software that counts subtitles has to read the particular track.
I've found that having MakeMKV read EVERYTHING doesn't take any longer, and you can process things more thoroughly after it's on your local disk than on the media. But that's just me...

Re: Number of PGS Subtitle Elements
Hello @Woodstock
Thanks for the Reply.
I think I have found a Workflow that will work going forward.
Rip the Bluray including All English Subtitles.
Check the MKV with 'MediaInfo', from within MKVToolnix, which shows how many Elements the Subtitles contain.
Set the appropriate Subtitle Track as Forced using MKVToolnix.
Remove any unnecessary Subtitle Tracks using MKVToolnix.
One Question regarding MKVToolnix and MediaInfo.
Why does the TrackID in MKVToolnix start at '0' and in MediaInfo it starts at '1' ?
Thanks
Kevin

Re: Number of PGS Subtitle Elements
The 0/1 issue has to do with programmer preferences. Old programmers start counting at zero, newer programmers start at one.
