Need NB52 Bootloader Recovery Firmware (Drive Stuck After Failed Cross-Flash)

Post by bobmcelroy15 »

I’m looking for help recovering my LG BP50NB40 (SVC NB52).
I was attempting the standard unlock → cross-flash process:

Step 1: BP50NB40-NB50 1.03-MK (Encrypted = ON) — SUCCESS

Step 2: BP60NB10 1.02-MK (Encrypted OFF, Write mode) — FAILED to apply

Recovery mode attempts → no LED, no spin-up, no response

I believe I’m now stuck in a corrupted bootloader state.

Symptoms:

LED does not turn on

No noise / no spin up

SDFtool now shows no options, no Recover popup

Device Manager shows the drive only under:

Other devices → BP50NB40
- No driver
- No firmware version
- No DVD/CD-ROM detection

What caused it:

I later learned NB52 drives require a “full bootloader flash” step between 1.03-MK → BP60.
I’ve seen people reference a file like:

BP50NB40 → NB52 boot-enabled recovery firmware
BP60NB10 1.00_HBD (MartyMcNuts, file id=2143)

But the old link (download/file.php?id=2143) is dead.

What I need:

Could someone please provide:

→ The NB52 boot-enabled recovery firmware (full flash / with bootloader)
→ OR the BP60NB10 1.00_HBD (full flash) file used for unbricking NB52 units

Once I have that file, I can use SDFtool’s rawflash or makemkvcon method to restore the boot block.

The NB52 boot-enabled recovery firmware (full flash / with bootloader) - Never heard of this. I don't believe there is such a thing. Also the download link for the old, obsolete HBD firmware I created works fine. I just downloaded it now: download/file.php?id=2143

Why would you not follow the simple instructions (and .gif) for your specific model in the SDFtool Flasher thread (first post)??

Try pasting the MakeMKV drive info and libredrive info sections so we can see where you are at and assist you.
Cheers :D
