Thank you for all your efforts! Today I received my Pioneer drive and would also like to cross flash it in order to enable UHD support.

This is the drive information:

Code: Select all

Drive Information
OS device name: /dev/sr2
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-209D
Revision: 1.33
Serial number: OFDL********
Firmware date: 2015-12-09
Bus encryption flags: 13
Highest AACS version: 82

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8600
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-209
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.33/ID61
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes
Is there a way to flash it from Linux as well? (Otherwise I briefly install Windows.)

Thanks in advance!

Thanks, this worked flawlessly! I used Windows 10 in Gnome Boxes and simply forwarded the USB adapter (JMicron JMS583Gen 2 to PCIe Gen3x2 Bridge) to the VM.

Result:

Code: Select all

Drive Information
OS device name: /dev/sr1
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-S11
Revision: 1.53
Serial number: OFDL********
Firmware date: 2020-08-03
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 82

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8800
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-211
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.53/ID43
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes
I also succesfully ripped the first UHD disk that caused me some issues on the previous drive (one of these slimline Verbatim ones).

This should already be enabled. As it is not, you need to download the latest SDF.bin and put it in the MakeMKV data directory. Restart MakeMKV and it should be absorbed in to _private_data.tar and the drive should be libredrive enabled.
Cheers :D

No. The firmware is post 11/2022 and cannot be cross-flashed at this stage. You will have to wait for possible future cross-flash support.
Cheers :D
