I've noticed that Makemkv reports files sometimes as "skipped" when doing a complete backup.
For example, it skipped a PDF file backing up Weird Science which was the movie script.
It skips zip files, XML files in some cases.
that would mean it's not a complete backup.
why does it do this?

Re: makemkv skips files in complete backup

no one knows why it does this?

Only the dev 'mike admin' could say for certain. You might try an email to support@makemkv.com ?

Bumping this in case anyone learned the answer in the last five years. I sent an email to support in the hopes Mike would answer, but haven't heard back.
Re: makemkv skips files in complete backup
I'm also wondering, does changing the default track selection have any impact on backups? Just a thought. It seems like .zips, .pdf, etc are skipped. I don't see any flags mentioned in the forums to include those file types in default track selections.
