LG 60NB10 Not Loading All 4K Discs

Post by ActorCam »

For some reason my LG 60NB10 drive no longer reads all my 4K discs. Some newer discs will spin for a bit, then the drives spits them back out without reading them. I've sent discs back to Amazon for replacements but the replacement discs can't be read either. They play fine on my Oppo disc player though. Two recent examples are "F1: The Movie" and "28 Years Later." Most other 4K discs read and rip just fine using MakeMKV, but a handful just won't read. I think I saw a comment somewhere that this is a known issue with some LG drives and that Pioneer drives are considered more reliable. Do people know if that's true? Thanks in advance.

Try cleaning the lasers.
Cheers :D

Yes. Cleaned the drive lasers many times. Washed these discs - and the replacement discs - several times. No bueno, the discs will not read in this drive for some reason. Any idea why? Is it an LG drive issue? Do you have any idea why this would happen when most of my other older 4K discs read without any problem? And other newer 4K discs load and read fine as well?
