The drive/firmware looks fine. Have you made sure MakeMKV has internet access enabled in preferences? It is needed so MakeMKV can download the UHD hashed keys as required.xsipp3m wrote: ↑Thu Sep 11, 2025 1:50 pmI bought this drive because I heard it didnt need flashing however when ive tried to rip a 4k to my computer its throwing this error:

Is this a new release UHD disc? It's possible the volume key hasn't yet been generated for it. If that is the case, the standard process is to email the generated dump file (see line: Saved AACS dump file as /Users/****/Movies/MKB20_v77_THE_SUBSTANCE_BEC8.tgz in the log window) to svq@mkemkv.com and a key will usually become available in about a week. But before doing this, I would ensure MakeMKV has internet access and can download the hashed keys. Sometimes it can be geoblocked as they are hosted in Russia and may require use of a VPN.
An additional option for you is to download and extract from the zip file the public KeyDB database to the MakeMKV data directory (where the tgz dump file is generated). The public KeyDB may possibly already include a record for your disc allowing MakeMKV to decrypt it immediately.
Cheers
