Hi. I have been buying and returning external blue ray rippers lately, trying to find one that would work to read and rip 4k UHD. This is the last one I got and it has firmware from 12/2022. I did not update this, this was fresh out of the box. I did not download a Pioneer utility to update firmware. When I looked at the guide and many posts, it has been written as 'after 12/2022'. Is this the bad firmware? I got this from amazon and it was listed as BD-RW BDR-XD08S, the box matches this (of course this could be repackaged). Does anyone have advice on if this is supported out of the box? Its not playing 4kUHD blue rays, only regular blu rays.

I thought I was getting this model (from the guide: drives that Currently work are:

BDR-XD08UMB-S Slim top load USB Rip speed 4x BD 66 ~1 Hour BD 100 ~1 hour 35mins)

Drive Information
OS device name: D:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-XD08
Revision: 1.02
Firmware date: 2022-12-27
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 58

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS9330
Firmware version: GENE

No disc inserted
Email me if you want a remote flash for this drive it is experimental
