Hello!
I recently bought a nearly new Blu-ray drive from a local reseller: HL-DT-ST BP55EB40, SVC Code: EB52.
When I connected it to MakeMKV, it didn’t show any LibreDrive information. I also tried SDFtoolFlasher, which reported that the drive isn’t based on the MT1959 platform.
I’m a bit puzzled. Is there a way to determine the platform this drive uses without disassemble it?
Any guidance or tips would be greatly appreciated—thanks in advance!

It uses the MT1959 drive platform. Post the libredrive info section, which should be below the drive info section.xavierxyp wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 3:09 pmHello!

maybe take out the CD-ROM which seem to be in the drive and keep the drive empty while looking up the info on MakeMKV

Thanks for the reply!MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 4:59 amIt uses the MT1959 drive platform. Post the libredrive info section, which should be below the drive info section.
I’m still a bit confused though, since I don't see any additional information under the drive info section.
Did I possibly miss a step?
I’m also starting to wonder if there might be a mismatch somewhere, maybe it's just a labeling or firmware issue, or perhaps the actual hardware isn't exactly what the seller listed.
Is there any reliable way to verify the real hardware model without physically opening the drive?

As you can see, there is the Drive Info and LibreDrive Info sections. Your drive should show MT1959 under drive platform.
If the Libredrive section is not showing, close MakeMKV, insert a blu-ray disc in to the drive, wait until Windows has initialised the disc (you can see it in windows explorer) then open up MakeMKV. Hopefully once MakeMKV sees the disc, it will show these sections.
Cheers

I tried, but unfortunately the LibreDrive section still doesn’t show up. Here's a screenshot of what I see below: https://imgur.com/a/R0aTmPE

Does MakeMKV have internet access? In preferences, ensure the box is checked.xavierxyp wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 4:33 pmThanks for the suggestion.MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 12:09 amIf the Libredrive section is not showing, close MakeMKV, insert a blu-ray disc in to the drive, wait until Windows has initialised the disc (you can see it in windows explorer) then open up MakeMKV.
