It wasn't the model I quoted. Not sure exactly which one it was. But I did just the one thing and it ripped both BD and UHD.
Then why would you have it quoted in your post? That just makes things confusing for those newbies...
Most LG drives only need to be flashed once but not the BP50NB40 / WP50NB40 / BP55EB40. These models must be cross-flashed to a UHD capable firmware.

No, I mean why would you include a different model drive to your own in your post, when what you are saying has no relevance to the model the other person was talking about. If you don't know about the specific model being talked about, you are better off saying nothing as it's just going to confuse people. I get you're also a newbie but surely you are aware of what is written in your post before you hit the submit button??

Yep, I see that but would have been even better if you said what model drive you actually have. Should still hopefully cause less confusion...

Yeah, the Verbatim 43888 contains a LG BU40N inside.

Right, that's the one
Still, I was surprised that it took just the one step, and not too long ago, I was told that this particular drive now inside the 43888 couldn't be flashed at all.

The 43888 used to have a Pioneer BDR-UD04 inside. Around Feb this year, they switched to the LG BU40N, most likely because Pioneer told them they were getting out of the the optical drive business.

I still use the Pioneer one with the naturally occurring ripping ability.
