Pioneer BDR-XD08B
I recently purchased a Pioneer BDR-XD08B. When I try to use it with makemkv, it tries to load a disc, but nothing happens. makemkvcon runs at 100% and exiting makemkv doesn't kill the process. I did rip a CD with the new drive, so I know that at least works. I also have another Pioneer drive, a BDR-XD05S that runs great with makemkv. I'm note sure why the new drive isn't working with makemkv...

Re: Pioneer BDR-XD08B
I assume you mean a UHD disk didn't work since you say the CD did rip successfully.
Your firmware is just a bit too new "Firmware date: 2022-12-27" to support UHD. But it should do BD, DVD,CD just fine.

Standard BD.
Edit: I installed makemkv in a Windows 7 VM, and it works. Must be something with Linux.
