I have a feature request (I don't think it's currently possible).
When Java is properly integrated with MakeMKV, each title has a descriptive name, for example, "MainFeature". Similar to track selection rules, I would like a feature where I can automatically select/deselect titles based on title. For example, always select if title includes "MainFeature", or always exclude if title includes "Warning", "Disclaimer", etc.
Other possible selection criteria:
1) Selecting/deselecting titles of a certain size. For example, only select titles that are greater than 1GB, or deselect titles under 1GB.
2) Deselect titles that have no audio.

Re: Feature request: Add rules for Titles
I don’t think that those descriptions rely on Java per se, but they instead rely on the disk being listed on The Disc DB, which requires a previous user to have ripped that disc and submitted the information to the relevant GitHub repo.Rojma wrote: ↑Thu Jul 24, 2025 7:09 pmI have a feature request (I don't think it's currently possible).

Re: Feature request: Add rules for Titles
I am pretty sure this funtionality relies on Java. To verify, I did a test. Here is how it looks when Java is installed Windows:

With the same disc, here is how it looks when Java is uninstalled and then the Windows device rebooted:

My guess is that its reading the titles from somewhere in the Java menus.

I can’t see the images you uploaded, but I have tested this with my own discs. Those descriptions have only ever appeared for movies that are listed in DiscDB, never for any movie that hasn’t been added there yet.Rojma wrote: ↑Mon Aug 11, 2025 5:46 pmI am pretty sure this funtionality relies on Java. Re: Feature request: Add rules for Titles
Sorry I have fixed the images. My tests indicate otherwise, unless it is relying on Java to look up information on DiscDB.

Re: Feature request: Add rules for Titles
Yeah, that is what I also suspect. I wasn't aware of the TheDiscDB site. I just took a look at the site and for this particular disc, the names don't match what I see in MakeMKV. The names on TheDiscDB are a lot "friendlier". In other words, I think we were talking about two different things in regards to the name of titles.
Is there a way to make MakeMKV download info from/upload info to TheDiscDB automatically, or is it all manual?
Re: Feature request: Add rules for Titles
I think that it’s all automated, without a manual option. The titles might be different if your disc is from a different region than the one that the database used. I had the same thing with one or two of my discs that definitely seemed to be from a different region.Rojma wrote: ↑Mon Aug 11, 2025 6:05 pmYeah, that is what I also suspect.
