Mine is a Windows laptop I bought several years ago that literally sat in a drawer for 3-4 years before I started using MakeMKV.
It still runs Windows 10.
I turned off internet clock sync.
Out of paranoia that Microsoft would somehow reset the system clock, I turned off wifi and banned its static IP on my router whenever I have to connect it to the network to upload content to my NAS.

Re: "Time travel" setup?
Bit overkill, innit? It's pretty fast to just set the clock to July 2025, then revert to auto-time afterwards, even if you don't use a script like some people are. You don't have to re-enter the key as long as you don't accidentally open the application before time leaping.
(FWIW, I leave the PC in the past when using the program; when I tried returning to the present while the program was already running, I got AACS errors when reading BDs, even in VLC.)
