RPC protection during rip

#1 Post by mudstain1 » Wed Jan 11, 2012 4:10 pm

Hi, I am getting this error when I try to rip DVD's "Drive BD-ROM ASUS BC-12B1ST 1.01 has RPC protection that can not be bypassed. Change drive region or update drive firmware from http://tdb.rpc1.org. So far I haven't seen it on Blu-rays, only DVD's. I am using Win 7 64 bit and mkv ver 1.7. This is a new HTPC I just built so I'm trying to get my personal library ripped. All of the DVD's I've done so far are region 1 which is what my player is set to in the device manager.

thanks

Chris

It means that you're trying to copy a disc with a mismatched region, and you're unlucky to have a drive that can't do that (these are rare).

So far its on every DVD I've tried. And I checked the back of the DVD's and they are all region 1 which is what my setting in Device mgr is.
