I was expecting only one mkv file!

I have tried my first make mkv from a blu-ray disc.

Picture quality is good as is audio (though I appear to have lost the Dolby True HD track).

My main problem is that I have more than one mkv file.

Have I made an error somewhere or is this correct?

By default every title in the disc will be selected, so you usually want to deselect all (right click) and then select just the title of interest. Also by default HD audio tracks will be deselected, so you want to manually select them.

Then you'll have one MKV file with HD audio.

Nope. But, in my opinion, that's one of the compelling reasons for ripping to MKV containers so you can start watching a film without having to navigate through all the trailers, anti-piracy notices and menus!

I should have clarified in my first reply that MakeMKV will list and select all titles that are more than 120 seconds long. You can change this default if you like to further trim down the list you are presented with.

It certainly will, if you select Blu-ray FULL DISC "Backup" (2nd icon from left)...

I think you are referring to the backup button. This is greyed out and can't be used.

If you've loaded a commercial Blu-ray disc, the "Backup" icon should NOT be grayed-out...

I have backed up a disc.

Am I then able to mkv the backed-up disc or not? It's just that the program doesn't find the file.

You still can't get menus in the MKV file. Backup is a complete copy of the disc, whereas an MKV is a copy of a specific title from within the disc.

I have a similar question. Why do I get two mkv files (t07,t08) from a disc that both seem to contain the main movie and practically the same size (for example one 31,264,537,380 bytes and the other 31,264,541,265). Just so I know which one I can delete, subtitles and languages seem to be the same. That does not always happen, only one some BR's.
