Asus BW-16D1HT MT939

Post by bkvaluemeal »

Hi all, I have an Asus BW-16D1HT that I purchased circa 2013 and am wanting to rip UHD content. It shipped with the MT939 platform which is different from the MT959 platform I've seen elsewhere on the forum. The latest version of Marty's SDF GUI tool correctly blocked me from flashing the 3.10 MK firmware due to this mismatch, but I thought it would still work and instead used an older version of the software to bypass the protection. I fear I have bricked the device, because now the drive lists itself as "revision: BOOT". I did however dump the original firmware before flashing. Is there a way to recover my drive and/or patch it with MK firmware to enable UHD content? I'm a fairly technical engineer and have some repair equipment, but not the knowledge of how to use it -- feel free to suggest hands on tasks.

Look there at the top of the first post under the fat red subheading --> viewtopic.php?f=16&t=19634

The blocked process of the SDF flasher should have been good advice for you.....

It's bricked. Use the DOS flash way or buy a new one.
