Hello everyone,
I'm encountering a perplexing issue with MakeMKV on my Fedora 41 system and would appreciate any insights or help.
**Problem Description:**
When I try to open a DVD directly using MakeMKV, the "Scanning" process never completes. It just stays stuck on "Scanning..." indefinitely, even after waiting for a very long time (hours). I've tried this with multiple commercial DVD discs. I have tried the flatpak version, installing makemkv directly on fedora, and the docker container version of it.
**What Works:**
Interestingly, I can successfully back up the exact same DVD discs using `dvdbackup` without any issues.
Once the DVD is backed up to my hard drive (as a VIDEO_TS folder), MakeMKV has absolutely no problem opening and converting that backup to an MKV file. This suggests that MakeMKV's core conversion capabilities are fine, and the issue lies specifically with its direct disc scanning.

I downloaded older version 1.17.7 and everything now works! Thanks for the assistance! I can even do the non 4k DVDs now.
