1.7.0 does not work for me; posix error for every source

Post by johnnybd »

Hi everyone,

I have been using the MakeMKV software for over half a year now and it has always worked like a charm. However, since I had to update to 1.7.0 the software does not work any longer. Every rip I get the same error around 50-75% into the trancode: "Error 'Posix error - Input/output error' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00000.m2ts' at offset .....". Furthermore, the system comes to a complete standstill around the time the error occurs. I mean, I can only move around my mouse at that time...

I have tried this with several sources and I get this problem every time. I have never encountered this error before with the older versions. Does anyone know why this happens? Or does anyone else have this problem?

I have a 2008 20" iMac with OSX 10.7.2 installed.

This does look like a dis or drive error. Do you have the same error when making a full disc backup? Also try copy tihis file from the disc in finder - if you get an error then its certainly a hardware issue.

Hi Mike,

The files do not give any problems when copying or moving around. What do you mean with a full disc backup?

I have tried the software with normal DVD's, Blu-ray's, Blu-ray iso's (so no disc) and downloaded Blu-ray sources. All give up on me during the transcode and I have never had this with the older versions of MakeMKV. The problem immediately popped up after installing the 1.7.0 software. I have also tried to reinstall the software, but I still got the same problem.

If you open activity monitor, do you see anything unusual for makemkvcon process? How much memory does it use when system comes to "standstill" ?
