MakeMKV and Windows 11 v24h2
MakeMKV and Windows 11 v24h2
I just did a fresh new install (not an update) of Windows 11 Pro v24h2 on new SSD 10 days ago. I installed the latest version of MakeMKV v1.18.1. I tried ripping Eternals today and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings today. MKV opens the disk. I go thru the information set up but the process fails after 6 or 7 seconds stating, "failed to save file". Fortunately, I have my old Windows 11 Pro v23h2 on another SSD with MakeMKV v1.17.8 installed. I'm currently ripping these movies now. Did Windows v24H2 do something to prevent MakeMKV from working? Is anyone else having this issue with Windows 24H2? Thanks for your help.
Re: MakeMKV and Windows 11 v24h2
Update:
After completing the successful rip of the 2 Marvel movies in Win 11 v23H2 I launched into Win 11 v24H2 hoping to duplicate the error, but MakeMKV successfully started to rip Eternals. Weird! This morning, I launched into 24H2, opened MakeMKV to rip Robin Hood (2010) with Russell Crowe and MakeMKV is successfully completing the task. I'm going to try M:I - Dead Reckoning Pt1 next as this is the recently made 4K-UHD movie I have to see if it produces the same error. It did not produce the error. I'm completely stumped as to why this happened. Is there a log file somewhere inside MakeMKV that I can look at and share the results? Thanks again.
