It's been over two years - is the status still the same? Do you still think this will eventually be dealt with?mike admin wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 4:22 pmThis will eventually be dealt with. The ETA, whether drive flashing would be required, and the flashing process are yet unknown. We are working as fast as we can.
Thanks.

I have the same problem. Do you mind sharing with me how did you do or share the files?CalicoSkies wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 7:33 pmIn October 2024, I bought a Pioneer BDR-212V from Amazon:mike admin wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 4:22 pmAs many of you have noticed, Pioneer released a mass firmware update for almost all drives. The firmware date is around December 2022 and release date is around February 2023. The sole purpose of this update is to disable LibreDrive and unofficial firmware flashing tools such as DVRtool.

Please do not update the the drive firmware, unless you really need to.

It was manufactured in 2024. I got a firmware and flash tool from another user here and was able to successfully flash it, and I'm able to rip 1080p blu-ray and even 4K discs with it. After flashing the firmware, it comes up as a BDR-S12U 1.02:

Re: Pioneer firmware update February 2023
Price of this 212v has doubled...sigh
Re: Pioneer firmware update February 2023
Is it worth buying a specific blu-ray drive (LG or Asus)?
My Pioneer uhd external drive cost me over 100 USD.
There's no point in buying another one.
BTW. I'll check ebay or amazon and see what they have for sale.
If they have an LG drive it will be ok.

In case anyone is curious, I got this drive from amazon.jp when I was in Japan last month, having it delivered to a combini near my hotel.el_Cheffe wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 4:32 amDrive Information

Hi all,
My BDR-S09 (firmware 1.52) and my BDR-209M (firmware 1.55) can't detect / rip Blu-ray UHD discs.
Can you please send me a firmware that unlocks this?
Thank you very much.
