The Power of Myth Blu-ray causes fatal crash

This is a new one for me. MakeMKV rips the first of four titles, then starts spitting out a ton of errors on subsequent titles until it crashes completely. The title it successfully rips appears good, but the title it's ripping on crash is just a gray square. I've successfully ripped 20+ other discs without issue on this version of MakeMKV.

Edit: this is only happening on disc 1. Disc 2 had a bunch of errors too, but all titles seem to have been successfully ripped.

That's the first thing I do before I rip any disc, even if it's new (and these are).

That's a good strategy.

I don't know if it'll make a difference, but what happens if you make a decrypted backup of the disc first before trying to make .mkv files? To make a backup, on the first screen of MakeMKV, click the icon of a yellow folder with a green arrow. If it successfully makes the backup, you can open this backup in MakeMKV and create .mkv files from it.

Interesting, that worked, however MakeMKV still produces a ton of errors and then crashes! It appears that it's the files themselves, not the disc. This gets me moving forward a little anyway. The unencrypted disc opens up just fine in the Blu-ray player software. Now...just have to figure out how to get these files ripped. Thanks for your help.

You can also open that decrypted backup in MKVToolNix and create .mkv files from there. I wonder if that works?

This also happened to me. I went as far as returning the first set of discs thinking they were defective. The second one I received, of course, did the same thing. I just uploaded the .m2ts files from the makemkv file backup dcoke22 suggested to Plex. They work the same as an .mkv
