BP60NB10 Factory Firmware

#1 Post by Tyyrus » Fri Apr 04, 2025 2:36 pm

Hello all! I need to RMA an LG BP60NB10 drive that I put patched firmware on. As I understand, if I send in the drive with the updated firmware, they may deny the RMA. I've been searching around here and on Google for a copy of the original firmware to flash back onto it, but haven't been able to find it anywhere. LG's website doesn't even list the model properly, so they don't have the firmware available. Does anyone have a copy of the stock BP60NB10 firmware, or can point me in the direction of where I could find it?

Thanks!

It would be very helpful if you actually told us what firmware you put on it or posted the MakeMKV drive info & libredrive info sections!!

A search for "original firmware flashers" will lead you to the thread I created ages ago: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=24443

They are old but they are the original LG flashers. Also, the BP60NB10 flasher would be for the SVC NB10, not the SVC NB12. Can't help you with the SVC NB12.

I think LG have software (or at least they used to) that you install which can update the firmware for you.
Cheers :D

Hello, and thanks for replying! Sorry, obviously I should have posted that information. Currently, here is my info:

Code: Select all

Drive Information
OS device name: D:
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE BP60NB10
Revision: 1.02
Serial number: SIM04OAIC3047
Firmware date: 2121-07-08 15:56
Bus encryption flags: 17
Highest AACS version: 70

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
Firmware type: Patched (microcode access re-enabled)
Firmware version: 1.02
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

No disc inserted
I had actually found that thread you linked and tried the flasher, but as you said it didn't work because I have the SVC NB12 model.

I tried searching for the LG firmware downloader. The LG website itself doesn't have any downloads for the model that I could find. I did find a link to some files on the hitachi-lg site at https://hitachi-lg.com/en/support/firmw ... load/?v=11 but the firmware download link is broken and gives me a "file not found" error in Korean, and the "Auto Firmware Download" program just gives me a "This program can not run on your operating system" error (I'm on Windows 11). I tried running it in compatibility mode with a bunch of different older Windows versions but no luck.

If anyone has the SVC NB12 firmware, or a link to an updater that might work with that model, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks for the help!

Actually, I have got the orginal BP60NB10 NB12 1.02 firmware. Here you go. It's just the firmware file, no flasher but see if you can flash it to the drive using SDFTool Flasher.

Cheers :D

What happened with the download link for this file, it claims it doesn't exist anymore. Also trying to find the original drivers since I already patched this in the past, but have been having issues lately with it not showing up as an optical drive, and I accidentally deleted the cd dvd driver for this in device manager. Screw LG for getting rid of all their drivers for stuff like this.

fw wont fix your driver issue
but the fix is easy just right click on top in device manager on your pc and click search for new devices and it will reinstall the driver
or just unplugging and re-plugging would too

also those links are still live for me

Ok, thanks for letting me know. But when I go to that zip file you linked, I get a page saying "The selected attachment does not exist anymore." So I don't know if I can take your word on that one. As for the device manager, I've had no luck on that, unplugging and re-plugging doesn't help because it weirdly appears as a USB Mass Storage device in device manager, but it doesn't appear as a bluray drive. As for the DVD/CD-Rom drives section, I've not been able to reinstall the driver as I can't do that. I don't see an option for "search for new devices" Only Add drivers or scan for hardware changes, which doesn't do much for me tbh. As for add legacy hardware, I don't see anything for DVD/CD-Rom there. Honestly do need to be able to download the drivers, but I don't know where to get them now since I don't think they're archived as I've mentioned before LG removed the downloads for stuff like this drive for example.

Scan for hardware changes doesn't really hope to do much other than refresh the device manager, still don't see anything on it. As for the link, it's this attachment for a zip you linked
download/file.php?id=6494
This doesn't work for me or some reason. I know my drive isn't dead because it does work and read discs, it just doesn't show up on my PC properly as of lately and without the DVD/CD-Rom device driver for this which I stupidly removed, I can't it being a problem with the cable, might have to test on another PC if I got time for that. Either way it would still be great to have all the files for this drive, especially the original firmware and etc.

it would if your windows settings for diver installation were default not sure if yours are or not they likely are.
ah i see i though you were talking about a link not a forum attachments yeah after forum update all attachments are gone or broken

something is dead likely the cable or case then if it sounds like drive is working
